goodbye for now

Hi guys, if you're my friend I guess you would've kind of expected this.

I've moved! Hahahaha. Sorry, I suck. I don't know who else reads this blog other than maybe three friends (hi Tiffany, Kuen Kuen and Clarissa lol) but according to Google analytics there are quite possibly 35 other people who read this blog although I don't quite understand why hahaha.

Anyway, my new blog is http://expositoryrepository.blogspot.com so see ya there!

day 7 ✈ santa cruz beach boardwalk, pigeon point lighthouse, SF

We made our way to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk first thing in the morning. The colouring on these photos look horrendous but I am sick of editing photos so I've left them as is. I will probably get irritated with myself and regret it though.

It was a very cheery place and it was nice to see a beach boardwalk, seeing as we didn't get to see the one at Santa Monica. We didn't take the rides because we were going to drive down to SF, so we just walked the length of it and left.

Kitesurfers.

On the drive towards SF, we stopped at Pigeon Point Lighthouse because we are tourists and we want to see everything hahaha.

We reach SF! I took a photo of this building because it looked grand and majestic but I don't know what it is. Oops.

It was a bitch climbing up this road.

Lombard Street was a total tourist hot spot and I hated it  because there were too many obnoxious tourists. 2/10 would not recommend.

The last stop of the day was the Fisherman's Wharf! The clam chowder was good, but the fried food, not so much. Walked to Pier 39 to see the sealions, met a very friendly dog and its family, and quickly made our way home because the sun was setting. My dad didn't drive and we didn't want to be walking around when it was dark. However, on the way back we passed this family and their youngest daughter gave me the biggest grin ever and it made me so happy! If I did that here people would just give me strange looks. I would too, sadly.

I also saw a guy and his chow chow in a corner shop and it just sat there waiting for the owner. I wish I took a photo of it but I was too slow and when I wanted to the guy walked off :(

I'm writing down a lot of miscellaneous things and forcing myself to upload the photos here because I just don't want to forget what happened on this trip. I can't really remember what happened when I visited California two years ago, and it makes me feel a bit sad, so this time round I thought I should record everything down before I forget!

day 6 ✈ monterey bay, 17-mile drive, big sur, pfeiffer beach

Monterey Bay was our first stop of the day. We didn't spend a lot of time here, because our main point of the day was to cruise along Big Sur.

(a mountain of sealions)

The 17-Mile Drive is a scenic route which you have to pay to drive through as it's also a residential area. The views were all incredibly dramatic. The last photo is of the Lone Cypress. Apparently it's been standing there by itself for over two hundred years. It is seriously the definition of forever alone hahaha.

The view of the sea along Big Sur was amazing and breathtaking. I am so glad we made the drive down. Pfeiffer Beach was like a small enclave, perfect for a beach party?? I think it would be nice. The toilets there were shocking, haha. It was the first of the many national park toilets we would visit. You're peeing/pooing into a toilet bowl but your waste doesn't go through pipes. It just adds on to the existing pile under the floor. Hahaha there's no plumbing system or even a sink to wash your hands. The toilets are like that for many other destinations where you're closer to nature. It was definitely an experience.
