pineapples on labour day

Friends do ridiculous things with each other. KK and I met at 11am today just to buy these pineapple bags from H&M. Our thinking very much goes along the lines of; if we want it badly, so does everyone else. There must be some psychological term for this behaviour!!

Anyway, these pineapple bags are pretty gr8 and qt! We wanted them ever since we saw this image on tumblr. We have very easily influenced minds.

Initially our plan was just to meet, grab the bags, and head home. Mostly because we're lazy introverts who like staying at home and also because I stayed out till 3am chatting with Keith so I was sleep deprived. In the end we didn't really feel like going home so after we ate at Popeye's (yumz Popeye's > KFC), we loitered around trying to find grad dresses.

We finally got to try the Royal Pudding from Paris Baguette! Let's be real, the only reason we both wanted to try it was because it looks cute. I had the strawberry flavor while KK had the original flavor. The original was kind of tasteless and the strawberry was only slightly nicer than the original. Let's just say it looks prettier than how it tastes, hahaha. I still want to try the mango flavor though!

Btw, we didn't get to eat the pudding at the cafe itself since it was full. We took it to-go and brought it up to the food court where we also shared a bowl of ice kacang hahaha. At Paris Baguette there were this bunch of adults (mid 20s/late 20s) who were hogging a table and the best thing was, among the group of 6 people there was only one plate and one drink glass - which were both empty. And the rest of them were drinking from paper cups. And they just sat there talking and talking. JUDGING THEM. These are probably the kind of office people I love to hate, just sayin'.

Kitty I saw on my way to work! It was hiding under the trolley in the sun. I walked past it at first because I was rushing, but I thought it looked so cute under the trolley so I turned back to take a photo. As soon as I stooped down to take the picture it crawled out so here is it in mid-motion.

It was so playful and cute!!! It just kept rolling about on the floor and when I reached out to pat or stroke it, it would bat at my hands with its paws. Its paws were so soft ;____; I wish I could have played with it longer because when I went back around 45 minutes later it wasn't at the spot anymore!

Ahhhh, I want a cat ;___;

Qt kitty says bye!

PS. I dreamt that I got accepted into NTU WKWSCI, WHAT KIND OF SICK JOKE. Cheat feelings. Pui.

neighborhood

One of the many shophouses I pass by on my way to work. I love shophouses! I only noticed today that these four in particular have the same design but have different Chinese characters labelled on them. Sadly, it's not very obvious in the photo.

Two more days and I won't be coming to this place often anymore. I've grown accustomed to a lot of things here, and I'll be sad to leave them behind. Small things like rushing to the bakery before work to buy my favourite raisin and cream buns, having the fish soup stall aunty recognize me, seeing tons of old school Chinese shops around, etc. are things that I'll miss.

I love coming to Chinatown and I'll miss coming here for work. I love how peaceful it is most days. It's not crowded and you don't see a ton of office people during lunch hours. Even if you do, they're the kinds that are tolerable. Hahaha I just have a thing against office people, oops.

I don't know how to explain it. You know how if you have a reason go to a place almost daily, you slowly  begin to feel like you're a part of it? As though you become part of the inner workings of the place, much  like a small blood vessel that keeps the heart going and pumping. And if you lose that reason to go to the place, you'll just feel like an outsider all over again.

Ok, I don't know if anyone would ever get what I'm trying to get across. *sob*

sea of teeth

I took this when I went for my interview last week. I haven't talked much about it because I think it went rather terribly. The other candidate seemed more mature and had more professional work experience compared to me and the answers I gave were really unorganized/all over the place. To sum up the whole experience: there's some growing up for me to do.

About to leave this company soon! After the 30th of this month I would have worked for them for less than 6 weeks. That is even shorter than my internship was. Every one who has worked here seems to have nothing good to say about this company, and I can't wait to get out of here. Currently looking for other jobs even though the company I interned for asked me if I wanted to go back. The thought of serving tourists again is making me facepalm myself. I also have to take out my piercings! I wouldn't say I'm really into my piercings anymore but I don't want to close them either, and I lost the clear plastic studs I had during internship. They cost $10 a piece so there is no way I'm buying more studs. Geez I am so picky. I am the embodiment of all the flaws in my generation lololol.

I spent the weekend organizing my music files; uploading the album art, renaming files, etc. I just feel weirdly satisfied when I see the album art neatly displayed in my iPod. I don't know man. Also discovered a bunch of Korean indie artists and they are pretty gr9. Please check out Acoustic Collabo and Ra.D!! One Way is good too, but I'm not sure if they classify as indie.

Other things that are gr9: ssamjang and gochujang. I picked these up at the supermarket last week (I spent $77 wtf) and I've been adding them to every meal. Pretty sure ssamjang isn't meant to be mixed with rice but it's so yummy so I can't help myself.

I'm not a Korean weeaboo/poser/wannabe I swear, please believe me lololol.

Graduation is a month and 7 days away! I still have not rented my gown because 1. am lazy to look for the link, 2. am stingy and don't feel like spending money on the rental. Tough life.

The most amazing thing that happened to me this week was finishing One Day. I BAWLED right at the last word of the last page of the book and I couldn't stop for at least 10 minutes, I'm not kidding you. I felt so unbelievably empty after the book ended. I tweeted: "David Nicholls took my heart out from beneath my ribcage and lovingly caressed it, after which he then swiftly punched a hole through it." I reckon if I watched One Day and Never Let You Go on the same day I might end my life on the spot.

the time i kill is killing me

I tried to take some photos at work today with my phone, mostly because I was bored and the photography project book I borrowed said to take twelve photos with a set theme. I know there isn't twelve photos here but I didn't know what else to photograph and I didn't want to take photos when my colleague was in the store because I am awkward like that. I guess the theme is: shit I see at work.

Amateur photo taking skills aside, hey look! A post that does not consist of me scrambling around to find words to piece my thoughts together or gushing about Korean boys.

I also did up a nice profile thingy on the sidebar and I think it looks like an obituary/gravestone inscription, even more so because I am not smiling in that photo. There's also a link to my selling blog, my (dead) beauty blog, and my quotes blog. I am the blog queen.

Almost 4 months and I have yet to go on a delete-all-the-posts!!!11 or delete-the-entire-blog!!11 rampage, so yay me! Achievement unlocked.

food = happiness

This is probably one of the rare #ootd/#wiwt shots that you will see which was not taken by a camera on a tripod. Hahaha. This was taken on Monday, when KK and I went to Bugis for various reasons. We decided to wear heels because we buy them but we never ever wear them out. And there's a reason for that. I was DYING. Luckily I brought flats out if not I would have cried my way home.

We had dinner at Poulet! I wanted to eat fish soup at Hotspot Cafe actually but I didn't realize they close at 4pm so we had to walk back to Bugis+ and we saw that Poulet was rather crowded so we  decided to eat there as well hahaha we are so Singaporean.

Anyway, the crowd there is justified! We each had the Poulet Roti. I thought the meat was really tender! The service there was good too. Sorry, am no food critic nor do I aspire to be one so here is my very simple and basic review hahaha.

The next day we met again to go to Chinatown to buy fabric and to Aljunied for my job interview. And after that we went to town to see if any retail shops were hiring.

We had lunch at Din Tai Fung!! Food at DTF is always goooood. I only took photos of my beloved xiao long baos and the mashed red bean dumplings. ♥.♥

Random photo of Cookie aww isn't she such a qt pie agugugu.

I met KK (again) and Keith on Thursday to accompany them to Jurong to send their laptops for repair. It was like visiting a whole new world along the red line bound towards Jurong East hahaha.

Lunch at Itacho Sushi. This mini rice was seriously mini but it was the only thing I was really pleased about. Everything else I ordered was kind of meh.

After getting caught in the rain while on the way to the Acer service centre and after they sent in their laptops, KK and I decided to go down to Tanjong Katong to try the lok lok buffet!!! We only decided to after we realized there was a straight bus all the way down. We literally went from one side of the country to the other. My ass hurt from sitting for so long on the bus.

It was quite satisfying although it's a bit different from the lok lok at our school. The lok lok at our school is sooooo good. It's the best thing that ever happened to me in NYP. Hahaha.

We ate a ton of prawns to "cover cost", so I think we're going to get high cholesterol sooner or later in life.

I think from this post it is pretty obvious I am a live to eat person and not a eat to live person. A lot of times when KK and I want to go out it usually revolves around which restaurant we want to eat at. This post is also a clear signal to me to STOP EATING OUT.

11.3.13

feel lucky

I told myself to pack my room immediately after exams ended yet it's been almost 3 weeks but my room still looks like a squatter's hole. I am leading the most boring life ever right now. I emailed to make an inquiry about a job, so hopefully they're hiring. I wasn't very keen on getting a job because I just want to sloth around and do nothing but my desire to shop is stronger than my desire to vegetate so there you go. In other boring news you don't really need to know, I jogged for 6 consecutive days last week and then I stopped after Wednesday because my knees really hurt after clubbing hahaha wtf. My body is really in the worst condition ever.

It strikes me how fast I get over crushes. I think it's the only redeeming quality about myself that I like hahaha. I mean, I still harbour feelings which are along the lines of "fuck him!!!!", etc. but honestly when I think about it or come across things that remind me of the guy I mostly just feel surprised I liked him for close to a year and I got rid of that crush within 5 days. May I have all the applause please. But then again if I think about it carefully, does that mean all of my crushes are largely superficial or are all crushes just superficial?

Either way, I like the way I feel now. Life is uneventful but it's rather peaceful and that's great.

I just don't want to pack my room you guys.

Here are some pictures just because I can:

Hehe on my birthday last year I don't know what's the last picture but damn all my friends have really nice legs.

I kind of miss school but I think the moment you put me back to classes I'll hate it so... I just like how pleased I look in the last picture hahaha although I also look retarded. My eyes are so small and tiny :(

3.3.13

eat that up, it's good for you

On the 27th I met up with some of the boys and Kuen Kuen to visit Mary Clare at the hospital! She had to undergo surgery for her left leg. As usual, KK and I were late — but with good intentions! We went to Changi City Point to get her cupcakes from Twelve Cupcakes. I also bought a salted caramel and red velvet cupcake for myself hahaha fattie is me. Then we made our way to Simei to meet the rest and then off to CGH we went!

I don't know why I look so radiant in this photo but I like it. My outfit that day looked like a school uniform I don't know what I was thinking. Also, I don't know what was on the strap of my bag but it left a whole bunch of black marks on my shirt which luckily, were easy to come off. My hair looks so flat in this picture the more I look at it aghhhh I want to do something to my hair!!! It's either my hair is too flat or my face is too big, or both??

Jerron looks like a pervert here. Besting Kevin at looking like a pervert is no small feat hmmmmm.

I don't know why my friend is like that ;___; She didn't want to sit down and she kept resting her entire body on her crutches. So JM went to steal someone's wheelchair thinking it was unoccupied hahahaha.

MC called this male nurse to help us with the photo and she was all, "Hey bro!" And we were all :O I don't understand why Jerron cannot smile in any photo.

After visiting MC we took a bus down to Joo Chiat for lunch!!! That day was just an opportunity for all of us non-east siders to explore the east side of Singapore hahaha.

~*~Tribute to JM's Ronald McDonald shoes~*~

We had lunch at EWF. It was my first time eating there! I know, even when they have an outlet in town. I shared the One Egg Soup with KK and my main was errm, I think it was called Creamy Salmon in a Cup. It was okay, the salmon was very tender!! I couldn't finish my fries :(

After lunch and after walking around I12 Katong (idk what is up with the name) aimlessly we decided to take another bus down to town because we didn't know what to do. We got off near Dhoby Ghaut so we decided to head to Plaza Singapura.

Pretty shirts at Uniqlo are pretty and I want them all.

There was this exhibition at the atrium of Plaza Singapura called Hello Shibuya Tokyo showcasing Japanese brands. The clothes were... Not my kinda thing but we came across these felted animal brooches! They look so realistic and look at the hamster hair tie!! We later realized they cost around $100 each so we slowly edged away from the booth hahaha.

Wow, I haven't done one of these "let's talk about my day" posts in a long while. I'm so used to typing about all my ~emotions~ and ~feelings~ instead hahaha. The post title is simply because I really like the song by Two Door Cinema Club. It gives me happy feelings!

16.2.13

These were taken on the last official day of school, I think it was on the 6th, after we had our IB presentation. There's a digital group photo of us on my camera but I look like shit in it so it's not going up here haha. I would have requested for another shot but a few were in a rush and the girl we asked to help us take a photo looked like she wanted to die when we asked her too so I didn't want to bother anymore.

I just felt like posting up a photo because I did tell myself to take more photos this year just as a form of keepsake but I always forget that I have a camera in my bag or am very lazy/self-conscious to take it out. Oop at me.

I am just procrastinating and choosing not studying for my remaining two papers. Good job to me!

Really looking forward to the months ahead, there's so much to do.

PS, look, I'm so bent on not studying I even went and sloth-ified my header. It's soooo cuuuuteee agugugu.

19.1.13

Whazzzzzup

Hi! Starting off with a very happy picture of me and Totoro! Hehehe, I love Totoro!!! I met Kuen Kuen today to have dinner. We haven't gone out together in ages because of school and other commitments. Our timetables also clash this semester so we hardly ever meet in school. :( We went to Saizeriya for dinner because I thought they still had their mussels and roast duck but they didn't. Meh. In retrospect we should have just gone to Pasta de Waraku.

This is the only picture of us "together". We forgot to take a picture together. It always happens.

Then we went to Starbucks to chill~ Ok, no, we are not the kind of people who sit down at Starbucks for hours because 1. Starbucks is full most of the time, 2. We are cheap people who don't want to pay more than $5 for drinks. We just wanted to go there because I wanted to try the new cheesecake Keith recommended and she wanted to drink steamed milk. I know right, who drinks that. The Starbucks guy was all "Err, is that all the drinks you'll be having?" The worst part was we didn't even get what he was saying until the third time he repeated it. Awkward children forever. Actually, the photo looks like a tea time meal for a child. Milk and cake. Hahaha.

Look at our #twinbaby purchases! Ok I begged Kuen Kuen to buy the keychain with me, hahaha. Hers would be the cat stuff and mine would be that chubby puppy!!!!!!!!!! WHEN I SAW IT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SHELF I HYPERVENTILATED BECAUSE Y'KNOW WHAT IT IS?! IT'S A FRENCH BULLDOG PUPPY!!! It's so cute erhmagerd. Look at its puppy butty and it rolling around all over agugugu. Don't judge me, thanks. IT'S SO CUTE Y'ALL. Yah, and after this we proceeded to buy the same everything the entire night. Same $5 top, same lounge pants - which we are very excited to wear to school to try the "just got out off bed" look. Hahahaha.

Euuurrrgh, I'm so stuck on my HR project. And when I see the work I'm given sometimes, all I can do is:

Jesus take the wheel.
