day 2 ✈ venice canals, abbot kinney, santa monica beach

Venice Canals was so picturesque, quaint, and lovely. I originally wanted to just snap a photo of one of the bridges to pay homage to the film Valentine's Day but we ended up spending an hour just walking around and looking at the different houses in the area. Loved it, 10/10 would recommend.

Abbot Kinney is the Los Angeles equivalent to our Haji Lane, minus all the sheesha joints. It is the only way to describe it. Lots of art, high-end boutiques, cafes, and specialty shops.

Even though it was summer, the beach was freezing cold. We didn't manage to go to the pier because we only paid for an hour of parking so we spent our time at the beach. The amount of sand there is so vast compared to our Singapore beaches and so much cleaner and softer. We left to get dinner at The Boiling Crab (which was okay, slightly too salty for our liking), and then to a building where everything was Korean because we were staying in Koreatown. A Korean ahjussi saw me taking photos and stopped in front of my camera with two of his hands raised in peace signs. I was too shocked to take a photo then but it would have made a cute photo. He spoke to me in Korean and sadly, three years of being into Kpop didn't help my understanding so I just smiled and nodded.

Ok, abrupt ending.
